I am having trouble with some special slovak characters (for example č, ň and ť). They are disappearing in the itextsharp generated pdf. From what I've been able to find, this problem has to do with encoding of my BaseFont. Currently I am using this: BaseFont.CreateFont(BaseFont.HELVETICA, iTextSharp.text.pdf.BaseFont.CP1250, BaseFont.NOT_EMBEDDED) Someone suggested that this should work: BaseFont.CreateFont(BaseFont.HELVETICA, iTextSharp.text.pdf.BaseFont.IDENTITY_H, BaseFont.NOT_EMBEDDED) But it throws this exception error: System.ArgumentException was caught Message='Identity-H' is not a
I have a deployment script to which i have to pass LDAP password as cmd paramater. actual password: foo\$ser"ver\\ 1 (contains three space characters: at the beginning, before 1, and after 1) e.g ...bin>deployment.bat LDAPPassword= foo\$ser\"ver\\ 1 Note:There are spaces in the password as shown at the beginning. The deployment.bat calls a class to which the above parameter is passed as an argument. The problem is that the class receives 2 distinct arguments: args= foo\$ser"ver\\ //The space after \\ is omitted args=1 //The space before and after 1 is omitted How do I pass this password
I am trying to read a CSV file containing questionnaire data written in Norwegian. So this file contains the letters Æ Ø Å, however R does not seem to handle these letters well, they all appear as question marks. I use this to read the data: data <- read.csv2("Responser - Vasket - 20.06.2013.csv") Is there any options I should use to let R know I have special characters? and I am using Rstudio on Windows 7.

The following pic shows how the data is before i import it(notepad) in R and after importing. I use the following command to import it in R: Data <- read.csv('data.csv',stringsAsFactors = FALSE,header = TRUE,quote = "") It can be seen that the special characters such as the ae is replaced with something like A| (line 19 on the left, line 18 or the right). Is there a way to import the CSV file as it is? (Using R)
This is a really long-standing issue in my work, that I realize I still don't have a good solution to... C naively defined all of its character test functions for an int: int isspace(int ch); But char's are often signed, and a full character often doesn't fit in an int, or in any single storage-unit that used for strings******. And these functions have been the logical template for current C++ functions and methods, and have set the stage for the current standard library. In fact, they're still supported, afaict. So if you hand isspace(*pchar) you can end up with sign extension problems. They
