IE 11 throwing “'timeZone' is outside of valid range” when setting timezone to “Europe/London”

I have some js to get the local time displayed in uk's timezone. var d = new Date(); // local system time (whatever timezone that is) var dUK = new Date(d.toLocaleString('en-GB', { timeZone: 'Europe/London' })); // UK timezone (covers BST too) Works fine in all browsers except IE 11(sigh...) which throws the following error: Option value 'EUROPE/LONDON' for 'timeZone' is outside of valid range. Expected: ['UTC'] Does anybody have any suggestions? See http://jsbin.com/dawaqocuvi/1/edit?html,js,console,output for an example fiddle that supports IE.

Print Stylesheet - Printed Page width Different in Webkit vs. Gecko/IE

When printing the page below in Safari/Chrome, the content (everything on the page, basically) is squished into the left side of the page, at about 60% of the page's width. However, in FireFox and IE 7, the printed page shows the content as the full width (and looks quite nice, imo). I resized all the layout elements to 100% width (using !important to make sure they're applying), and Safari/Chrome still won't print out the full width. Here's the page I'm referencing: http://archstl.org/commoffice/press-release/2010/local-catholic-principal-honored-fi And here's an image of the difference

Block script in IE

I have a fancy script that is nice, but not essential and surprise surprise, doesn't play nice with IE. How do I 'comment it out' for IE? I know I can use the following to include statements for IE, but how do I exclude them? <!--[if IE 6]> Special instructions for IE 6 here <![endif]-->

The good old overlapping menu, how to z-index an activeX

I have an ActiveX on a page... I know ... ActiveX ... blarghhh! That for some logic business reason we had to go with ActiveX, but the problem is that I can't make the ActiveX <object> to be beneath anything else ... it's extremely weird! Live plain example and Live example with iframe wrapper You can try the example, but remember that the ActiveX only work in Internet Explorer, and no matter what version for the ActiveX, it will always run. This problem I'm facing is the overlapping one: Playing with position and z-index does nothing and I have no more ideas :-(

IE10, Opera 12 :: Opacity:<1, display:inline leads to a strange cropping

In this question - If the staff and community won't mind - I would like to address two different bugs of different browsers, though ocuring on same conditions. The bugs happen when an element with display:inline (and a box-shadow, but this is set here more for a demonstration purpose) gets opacity less than 1. Then IE 10 (at least) chops the box-shadow as if "overflow:hidden" was set. Opera 12.15 leaves the box shadow only on the first line of the text. The HTML to demonstrate the issue: <span class="inline opaque"> <span>Some text.</span> </span> CSS: .inline{ display:inline; background:red

asp.net/jQuery: post data with jQuery to a popup [IE]

I'm trying to post data with jQuery in an asp.net application to a popup. If the popup opens, I'm getting three errors. The first error is: Errror: the value of the property is null or undefined not a function object (error code [code is in popup site]:http://www.suckmypic.net/26449/e65f2d77.png, orig. code [code is in popup site]:http://www.suckmypic.net/26450/7dfdf013.png) then I'm getting two errors of private functions which are included correctly. Then - if I'm reloading the popup window, everything is working fine. I open the popup in this way: $.post('popup.aspx', { X: $("#X1").val()

“download link ” fails in IE

I was trying to implement a "download link" and put it beside one of my report table so that users can download a csv file and open it with applications like Excel. The records are generated dynamically based on the query made by users. So somewhere in my controller there's something like: response.headers['Content-Type'] = 'text/csv' response.headers['Content-Disposition'] = 'attachment; filename=xxx.csv' return response.stream(dynamically_generated_csv, request=request) This works in both FireFox & Chrome, but fails in IE. When I print out the response headers, I found that several headers

http://jsfiddle.net/CbL7W/ example of scroll event behavior. I have this script that is working correctly in both Chrome and Firefox. var stickyNavigationOffsetTop = $('.top-nav').offset().top; var stickyNavigation = function () { var scrollTop = $(window).scrollTop(); if (scrollTop > stickyNavigationOffsetTop) { $('.top-nav').css({ 'position': 'fixed', 'top': 0, 'left': 0, 'opacity': .8 }); } else { $('.top-nav').css({ 'position': 'relative', 'opacity': 1 }); } }; stickyNavigation(); $(window).scroll(function () { stickyNavigation(); }); But there is a little problem with Internet Explorer
